MIDDLE SCHOOL AT ROSEHILL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
Cultivating Character for a Life of Purpose
Middle school at Rosehill Christian School is a vibrant season of transformation. As students navigate the meaningful transition from childhood to young adulthood, they begin to discover the unique identity God has placed within them. Taking inspiration from Luke 2:52, we seek to mirror the growth of Jesus, who “increased in wisdom and in stature, and in favor with God and man.” Our dedicated staff provides a nurturing environment where students are empowered to inquire, explore, and take healthy risks. Through a blend of rigorous academics, competitive athletics, and spirited extracurriculars, we equip our middle schoolers to grow intellectually, physically, and spiritually.
Middle School Culture
Rosehill Christian School’s Middle School program is designed to support students as they navigate grades 6-8, focusing on 4 pillars: faith walk, academic growth, leadership and service, and life skills.
-
Middle School students at Rosehill Christian School participate in daily Bible classes and weekly Chapel, creating a rhythm of spiritual reflection and growth. Within these settings, our faculty and staff provide personalized mentorship, guiding students as they navigate their faith journey.
-
Students are encouraged to excel academically, with honors programs for advanced learners and student services for those needing extra support.
-
Students grow as leaders, serving their peers and community through role in the Big and Lil mentor program and service projects like trips to the Houston Food Bank.
Academic Program and Curriculum
Our middle school academic program is purposefully designed to bridge the gap between foundational learning and the rigors of a college-preparatory high school curriculum.
Bible & Spiritual Foundation: At the heart of our curriculum, students embark on a dynamic journey through the Old and New Testaments. This study is designed to deepen the scriptural foundations established during their Elementary years and foster a personal walk with Christ.
English & Language Arts: Our English curriculum is centered on novel-based units that introduce and reinforce key literary concepts, including theme, characterization, and plot structure. Students grow into thoughtful, effective writers through focused grammar instruction and a variety of writing modes, including:
Literary Analysis & Research
Persuasive and Compare-and-Contrast Essays
Creative expression through Poetry and Short Stories
Mathematics: The sequence is designed for mastery and progression. Sixth-grade coursework establishes the essential skills required for success in Pre-Algebra and Algebra during the seventh and eighth-grade years.
Science: Students actively explore God’s creation through an integrated introduction to the primary scientific disciplines. For advanced learners, Integrated Physics and Chemistry (IPC) is available in 8th grade as a high school credit course (based on prerequisites).
Social Studies: Our social studies program provides a comprehensive understanding of our world and heritage, encompassing:
World Cultures
Greco-Roman History
Texas History
U.S. History
6th Grade
To support a smooth and confident transition from Elementary School to Middle School, 6th grade at RCS is intentionally designed as a positive and encouraging transition year. Students follow an eight-period schedule but make fewer actual class changes, which allows teachers to provide closer guidance as students gradually adjust to the full eight-period rotation used in seventh and eighth grade. Sixth grade also serves as an introduction to the full middle school experience, where students begin participating in sports, fine arts, and a variety of academic activities.
7th - 8th Grade
With excellence as our goal, we intentionally enrich our academic core program to provide a well-rounded, Christ-centered education. Jesus Christ and Christian values are woven throughout our core classes, chapel times, field trips, and advisory programs.
Our 7th and 8th graders follow an eight-period modified block schedule designed to support deeper learning and flexibility. Beyond strong academic content, we strive to develop well-rounded students by offering a wide variety of engaging electives.

“ We were looking for a school for our boys where they could connect and flourish both academically and spiritually. It was easy to see the perspective of other schools from their facilities & aesthetics, but what we noticed about Rosehill the minute we walked in the door was a sense of community that felt like family. To find a place where your child is known and loved is a breath of fresh air, and made our decision to choose Rosehill easy.”
