Middle School Drama & One Act Play

In this course, students tap into their creative potential by mastering fundamental performance skills and collaborative storytelling. From acting to technical production, every student discovers a unique role in the ensemble, learning to take bold risks and solve problems as a team.

  • Learn essential core theatre principles in stage movement, diction, voice, and pantomime. 

  • Study the history and vocabulary of theater. 

  • Hone procedures to overcome stage fright and create self-confidence. 

  • Concentrate on improvisational techniques and acting skills for in-class performance.

  • Develop oral interpretation skills. 

  • Study the works of selected major playwrights.

The theatre arts offer a unique synthesis of mind, body, and emotion, equipping students with the cognitive and social tools to navigate life with confidence. By engaging in creative performance from an early age, students develop deep empathy and sharp insights that allow them to approach real-life challenges with clarity and understanding.

High School Drama & One Act Play

Beyond the stage, theatre is a vital educational tool for developing the whole student. By navigating the challenges of dramatic production, students refine their analytical skills and learn to solve complex problems under pressure. This process builds character and resilience, empowering students to take pride in their work and celebrate their collective accomplishments.

  • Develop skills to portray compelling characters and complex scenes using drama techniques  

  • Center on practical acting, commanding audience attention, and building an on-stage presence. 

  • Understand and follow stage directions, and use proper techniques for body and voice control.  

  • Learn and discuss the basic elements of drama to better understand and analyze characters and scripted material.   

  • Study the history of theatre and notable playwrights to establish a historical perspective and relevance.  

  • Develop knowledge of set design and development.
